In the early hours of today (18th) in Tin Shui Wai, a police officer armed with a gun and subdued a man with a knife.
At 4:23 in the morning, during an anti-crime patrol on Kiu Cheong Road Tin Shui Wai West Rail Station, the police found two men acting suspiciously in a private car parked on the side of the road.
The police officer stepped forward and stopped the car. Seeing this, the driver of the car tried to drive away his private car, but hit an iron pillar and then a private car successively.
The driver then got out of the car and fled. The non-Chinese male passenger suspected that he was holding a knife and confronted the police officer. The police officer issued a verbal warning to the man but failed, so he drew his gun for security. The man was subdued.
After investigation, the police found that the license plate of the private car did not match the license plate, and seized a batch of electric drills and pliers in the private car.
The arrested man, 41 years old, is a Bangladeshi citizen who holds a "street permit". He was arrested on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons, using false documents, and having items for theft when going out. The case was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Team of Yuen Long Police District Team 12 followed suit.
Police are now looking for the whereabouts of another man.
The case was handed over to Team 12 of the Yuen Long District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
