Dairy industrialists and producers in Damascus and its countryside called for exempting industrial establishments that meet the requirements from sensory tests on samples, allowing the introduction of hydrogenated vegetable butter into dairy and cheese products, and securing fuel.
The head of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Ghazwan al-Masri, stressed during the meeting the chamber's keenness to communicate the industrialists' demands to the concerned authorities, and to cooperate with them to overcome the obstacles to their work in a way that contributes to the development and growth of this industry.
In his turn, Vice President of the Chamber and head of the food sector, Talal Qalaji, pointed out the need to find appropriate solutions to the obstacles facing this sector in order to contribute to the process of developing national food industries and working to increase their capacity.
The chamber's treasurer, George Daoud, Vice President of the Food Sector, Walid Houriya, and Ayman Zabadneh, Secretary of the Food Sector, participated in the meeting during which Muhammad Yassin Shammout was elected Chairman of the Cheese, Dairy, and Ice Cream Committee.
