Now his son Lucas Cordalis wants to follow in the footsteps of the late Schlager legend.

Murwillumbah – It was only a matter of time that Lucas Cordalis (55) would sooner or later also talk about his late father Costa († 75) in the jungle camp.
On day five of "I'm a star – get me out of here!", the husband of "Goodbye Germany" star Daniela Katzenberger (36) is gripped by great feelings: at the campfire, the 55-year-old talks his grief from his soul and reports openly about the tragic death of the hit star.
In Cosimo (41) he finds a grateful listener - but a little later he doesn't follow suit at all brilliantly.

The jungle camp candidates are slowly getting used to each other.
Lucas Cordalis, who has not been seen too much so far, is also gradually coming out of himself.
In a quiet moment, the singer - in the presence of fellow camper Cosimo - gives free rein to his grief for Papa Costa Cordalis, who won the very first "I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!" season in 2004.
So far, it has rarely been more emotional in season 16: “I witnessed his last hours, his last breath.
I felt his last heartbeat," said the 55-year-old about the pop star who died in 2019.

The painful loss still weighs heavily.
With tears in his eyes, Lucas Cordalis remembers the moment that brought his otherwise ideal world to collapse: "My mother was alone with him.
Then she said: 'Come up quickly, something's very strange.'
I go upstairs and indeed, shortly afterwards he also died.” Cosimo himself is often at a loss for words.
He silently expresses his sympathy to his jungle camp colleague.
He reveals: "But the worst thing - I haven't told anyone that yet - was the moment when he was picked up.
It rips your heart out.”

After a jungle camp conversation with Lucas Cordalis – Cosimo makes an embarrassing mix-up
However, Lucas Cordalis finds comfort in his belief: "Now he's up there looking down," he explains to Cosimo, who even manages to lighten the depressed mood with a joke: "And he thinks: What are those two idiots doing there?" The emotional conversation on the fifth day of the jungle camp (all jungle camp broadcast dates 2023) apparently left a lasting impression on the 41-year-old DSDS cult candidate.
Touched, Cosimo enters the jungle phone a little later and wants to sing his biggest hit – in memory of “Anita” singer Costa Cordalis. However, the Italian made a precarious mishap: “You knew the songs! Also whenever you eat at the Greek. Greek wine is like the blood of the earth..." he croons, apparently without knowing that the song was actually written by Udo Jürgens († 80).
Confusions are apparently his trademark: Cosimo already believed in the "Summer House of the Stars" that Mario Basler (54) was Mario Barth (50).

Lucky for Cosimo: After all, he made his embarrassing mistake in a one-on-one interview and not right next to Lucas Cordalis.
He is not alone with his soul strip: Jungle camp star Djamila Rowe (55) recently revealed her difficult childhood in which she had to suffer from hunger.
