The "Car of the Year in Europe" competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the automotive world, in which senior automotive journalists on the continent participate and choose the chosen model from among the many models whose marketing began last year.

In the other years, the status of the competition dimmed due to several strange and political elections, but still, as mentioned, it is one of the competitions that is considered even today.

After about two months ago the list of the seven bloods that reached the final stage of the competition was published, the final results were published yesterday, and there was a surprising winner: Jeep Avenger.

The Avenger won 328 points and the first choice of 21 out of 57 journalists who participated in the competition this year.

It is a small urban crossover located below the old Renegade, while for Jeep it is a landmark being the first electric model of the old brand.

Jeep Avenger is also the first Jeep model to be designed under the Stellentis Group, being based on and sharing assemblies with the Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka and Citroen C4.

Currently, the Avenger is marketed with a front electric motor that delivers 156 hp, front-wheel drive and a 54 kWh battery that provides a driving range of about 400 km. However, a dual-drive version is also expected to join in the future, for the first time on the basis of this platform However, in the end it is still a differently designed version of the Stlantis compact crossovers, and it is definitely not a vehicle that brings a leap forward or technology that we have not seen yet.

The victory of Jeep Avenger is surprising and also puzzling considering the rest of the models it left behind in the competition by a large margin.

The second place went to the electric Volkswagen ID BUZZ with its cool retro design, and the third place went to the Nissan Aria, the first car in the new generation of Nissan electric cars.

Surprisingly Toyota bZ4X, Toyota's first electric car, finished last in the final stage.
