Al-Hasakah - SANA
The quantities of winter vegetables produced and marketed in Al-Hasakah governorate amounted to approximately 8,800 tons, since the start of marketing operations during the month of October and to date.
The head of the Plant Production Department in the Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Jalal Bilal, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the governorate's farmers are continuing to market production from the areas planted with various types of winter vegetables, which contributed to the availability of these foodstuffs in the markets, and securing the people's need for them, indicating that the low temperatures What the governorate was exposed to during the past week did not affect the production of winter vegetables.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Ali Khalif, explained that the governorate’s markets have various types of local vegetables and fruits, which still maintain their prices constant, with the exception of some types of fruits and vegetables that are imported from other Syrian governorates, such as oranges, apples, and tomatoes, which are witnessing a slight increase.
It is noteworthy that the area cultivated with winter vegetables in Al-Hasakah Governorate for the current season amounts to 4,334 hectares.
