The branch of the National Microfinance Bank in Suwayda has started operating with a package of new programs and products, as part of efforts to expand the volume of services provided by the bank.
And the bank’s branch manager, Tamim Nasr, stated in a statement to SANA that the bank started opening current accounts for those wishing to do so, and accepting deposits with the possibility of depositing for a period ranging from one month to a year in exchange for the depositor obtaining interest. The public and private sectors, at an average value of two salaries, not exceeding 600 thousand pounds, with an interest of 2 percent per month.
Nasr pointed out that the bank has recently initiated the educational loan product aimed at financing the purchase of “laptop” devices to serve administrative, engineering and programming office work, with a repayment period of 60 months, and university students whose studies require these devices, as well as engineers, trade unionists and faculty members, benefit from it.
He added: There is now a possibility to grant loans without guarantees, up to 5 million pounds, for mature projects that are being studied, according to an insurance policy and dispensing with personal guarantees and in-kind guarantees that were provided, indicating that the pace of lending is going well, as 1540 loans were granted, the value of which amounted to 1,540 pounds. Two billion and 350 million pounds, and included various developmental, agricultural and consumer fields.
The bank recently launched electronic payment services related to the payment of installments via the Mobile Cash Mobile application under the MTN agreement, to add this application to the payment outlets in a number of public and private banks and remittance companies.
