, welcomed Wednesday, January 18 the American-Philippine winner of the Nobel Peace Prize Maria Ressa, after her acquittal by an appeal court of four counts of tax evasion.
Journalist Maria Ressa, joint winner of the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize in 2021 with Russian reporter Dmitry Muratov, was acquitted as well as her online newspaper Rappler.
But she faces three other criminal cases, including a cybercrime conviction, currently on appeal, for which she faces nearly seven years in prison.
