The flames invaded the accommodation around 7:30 a.m., in circumstances that remain to be established.
This Wednesday morning, at least three people lost their lives in a major fire in Rambouillet (Yvelines), in an apartment located on the second floor of the Perceval residence.
Thirty-eight firefighters and sixteen emergency vehicles are still on site, as well as local elected officials and representatives of the sub-prefecture.
In the charred apartment, firefighters discovered the bodies of an adult and two children, believed to be 8 and 17 years old.
According to our information, four people occupied the accommodation.
“The state of the bodies makes their identification very difficult at the moment,” commented a source on Wednesday.
The occupants of the fourteen apartments in this residence were evacuated by the emergency services and gathered in the premises of SmartCity campus, a coworking space located rue de Clairefontaine.
No hypothesis is ruled out
“The fire is under control but the firefighters are still hard at work to prevent any spread, explains Véronique Matillon, the mayor (DVD) of Rambouillet.
We are currently with the evacuated families, to welcome them warmly and ensure their care with the support of the Red Cross.
The Minister Delegate for the City and Housing, Olivier Klein, must go there.
The investigation was entrusted to police officers from the Rambouillet police station.
For the time being, they are not neglecting any hypothesis, including the criminal trail.
