Deir Ezzor - SANA
The Directorate of Technical Services in Deir Ezzor has completed the project for the rehabilitation of three culverts on the valleys and waterways in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.
The Director of Technical Services in Deir Ezzor, Abdul-Hadi Al-Saleh, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the project included the rehabilitation of three water culverts on three streams and valleys, which are Khirbet, Halas, and Wadi Al-Oyoun in the western countryside of the governorate, which went out of service more than 10 years ago as a result of being vandalized, and that no action was taken. Maintaining it, as it led to road cuts and flooding large areas of agricultural lands with rain and torrential waters, pointing out that the project works included dirt fillings, dredging and diverting the flow of torrential waters towards drains, and concrete works to protect and reinforce the pipes and reinforce them with black stones to prevent soil erosion.
A number of farmers indicated that the rehabilitation of the three culverts contributes to protecting agricultural lands from the danger of torrential rains and floods, especially in the months of March and April, which witness heavy rains that flood their agricultural lands and damage their crops, especially the wheat crop.
