Shas today (Wednesday) attacked the disqualification of party chairman Aryeh Deri Malkhan as kosher by the judges of the High Court.
"The Supreme Court, which claims to take care of minorities, today threw away the voices and votes of 400,000 Shas movement voters, who went to the polls just two months ago," the party's statement said

Today the High Court invalidated Deri's appointment as minister. 10 of the 11 Supreme Court judges who heard the petition ruled that Deri's appointment is illegal, despite the amendment to the Basic Law, according to which there is no defamation in the offenses he committed.
Most of the panel judges ruled that the appointment was extremely unreasonable, and therefore Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to remove Deri from his position. The judges justified the disqualification by the fact that he had accumulated criminal convictions, as well as the presentation that Deri presented before the Magistrate's Court that sentenced him for these offenses, according to which he is retiring from political life.
