The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, discussed with the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Syria, Angela Kearney, the promotion of educational cooperation, in the Ministry's building in Damascus.
Minister Tabbaa reviewed the points of joint cooperation with the organization, represented by rehabilitating schools and developing the curriculum for category (B) to accommodate students who have dropped out of school, developing the empowering (self) curriculum for children in areas controlled by armed terrorist groups, and reducing school violence, indicating that despite the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, but the educational process continues, and students enroll in schools, and school supplies are provided for them in order to accommodate children who are out of school.
The minister emphasized enhancing the quality of education and providing a safe school environment for students, in addition to working on a campaign to reduce school violence and the need to educate children and raise them to be optimistic and creative.
In turn, Kearney affirmed the organization's readiness to intensify efforts and support the ministry in achieving a safe future for children and a suitable school environment for them through developing the empowering curriculum (B), rehabilitating schools and reducing school violence.
The meeting was attended by the deputy representative of the organization, Dr. Ghada Kachaji, and the director of planning and international cooperation at the ministry, Ghassan Shughri.
