"I will not submit to this terrorism, and those elements will not let go of my hand," said the head of the Meta Asher Regional Council, Moshe Davidovich, this morning (Wednesday), in response to the vandalism of his car in the village of Sheikh Danon.
Davidovich arrived in the settlement last night for a meeting with a group of women.
After leaving the meeting, he discovered that the windows of his car had been smashed.
Davidovich rushed to file a complaint with the police, following which a suspect resident of the village was arrested.
Depending on the development of the investigation, the police will decide whether to ask today to extend the suspect's detention at the Magistrate's Court in Kiryat.
The police are actually checking the background and circumstances.
According to Davidovich, "In recent months we have witnessed increasing crime and violence in the village of Sheikh Danon. Last night criminals decided to threaten me as head of the village, damage my car and try to threaten me. The case joins a series of events that already took place about a month ago, when a group of rioters fired automatic weapons and threw grenades at vehicles and houses in the village. As a result, two young men were wounded by gunfire, and about ten vehicles were set on fire.

"It would be unthinkable that we would see such sights in the wonderful village where the absolute majority of its residents are law-abiding citizens and a small minority of law-breaking criminals looking to wreak havoc on the wonderful villagers.
"I left this evening from a heartwarming meeting of a group of women who do a lovely job in cooperation, and I found my car dismantled and destroyed. I will not let this place be destroyed and I will not give up a sane life for the residents of Sheikh Danon and the area. I trust the police, and we will do everything necessary to reach calm necessary and removing the violence from the village. The council will allocate any necessary resources," Davidovich concluded.
