The suspect burst into tears during the hearing and denied the police's claims • Her lawyer: "The incident was blown out of all proportion"

The Haifa Magistrate's Court today (Wednesday) extended by four days the detention of the mother who is suspected of imprisoning her baby son in a cage.

On Monday, the police raided the house of the suspect in the Hadar neighborhood in Haifa following information about the operation of a drug station there.

The policemen who discovered the difficult sight, rescued the baby from the cage.

The police representative asked at the beginning of the hearing to extend the mother's detention by eight days.

The mother burst into tears and cried out: "I didn't do anything, I didn't really do anything."

The police representative claimed at the hearing that this was not a one-off incident: "She regularly puts the toddler in the cage."

The mother shouted in response: "This is not true."

The woman's defense attorney asked to know if testimony was collected from the mother's two older children who were interrogated, and it was answered that this was done, and the suspicion against the mother was strengthened.

During the hearing, the suspect's mother sent many glances at her family members and burst into tears.

Her lawyer stated that "the case was blown out of all proportion. This is not a case of violence at all."
