The Ukrainian Minister of the Interior, Denis Monastirsky, his two children and several senior officials of his office were killed today (Wednesday) in a helicopter crash in the Kyiv area.
Also killed were the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Yavan Yanin, and the Secretary of the Ministry, Yuri Lubkovitch.
According to officials in Ukraine, 15 people died in the accident and 22 others were injured, ten of them children.
The cause of the crash is being investigated, but it is believed to be due to severe weather conditions.
