The judges of the High Court will announce today (Wednesday) at 16:00 their decision regarding the petitions submitted against the appointment of the Minister of Interior and Health Aryeh Deri. Before the decision, MKs and ministers of Shas spoke strongly against the possibility that the High Court will decide to accept the petitions and reject the Deri

Following this, Deri instructed the ministers and members of the Knesset in his party to "lower their profile", not to be interviewed in the next day and to cancel prearranged interviews.

Members of the Shas party threatened that if the High Court of Justice decides to disqualify Deri for the position of minister, this could break up the coalition.

Welfare Minister Yaakov Margi claimed that if the disqualification is implemented "there will be no government", and the Deputy Minister of Interior and Health, Moshe Arbel, said that "it will be a coalition shock".

The statements came after Deri himself called on his party members to exert media pressure on the matter.

Despite the threats, the assessment in the coalition was that the messages coming out of Shas are threats that will not be realized in the end,

An hour before the decision on his case, Shas chairman Aryeh Deri arrived at his home in the Har Nof neighborhood in Jerusalem, and will spend the next few hours in the bosom of his family.

After the publication of the ruling, Deri is expected to conduct political consultations regarding the way in which he and the coalition will deal with its consequences, if he is disqualified,

politicians from the opposition and from the side of the petitioners tried to calm the spirits and called to accept the court's decision no matter what it is.

The chairman of the state camp, Benny Gantz, attacked the statements of Shas members and said that "the attempts to influence the decision of the group are invalid."

Gantz also said that he is "sure that the judges, whatever their decision, will rule solely according to the law and not according to the public debate. I call on everyone to respect the High Court's decision and not drag the State of Israel into a constitutional crisis."

Attorney Tomer Naor from the Movement for the Quality of Government, which petitioned against his appointment, said that "We place our trust in the Supreme Court of the State of Israel, and hope that it will rule fearlessly and based on the principles of justice and the law of the State of Israel.

We will respect any decision given by the honorable court, and we very much hope that so will the other parties to the petition."

Attorney Dafna Holtz Lachner, who also sued, told Walla! She pointed the finger at Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. "Looking forward to the required decision that Netanyahu acted with extreme unreasonableness when he appointed to the position of minister in the Israeli government a person with such a serious criminal record," she said. Asher again committed serious offenses of governmental corruption and other offenses and even added and misled the court in deciding his sentence that he intended to leave public life and all in order to escape the determination of defamation that stuck to his criminal acts.

It is expected that under these circumstances the Supreme Court will set the necessary normative bar to protect the citizens of the country from governmental corruption."

Avia Alef, the chairperson of the Movement for Purity of Morals, said: "We hope that the verdict will support our arguments in the petition submitted by the movement To the purity of the morals that Deri's appointment is improbable and his trial null and void. In view of the public uproar, it is to be hoped that the verdict will be upheld, and that the threats being made against the High Court at the present time will not lead, God forbid,
