As part of a series of meetings and scientific days launched by Al-Basil Hospital in Tartous, the hospital's lecture hall hosted today a scientific day under the title "Nervous disorders in the context of systemic diseases."
The director of the hospital, Dr. Iskandar Ammar, spoke about the importance of these scientific days, which include a group of lectures for all specialties, including what is new in each field, or discussing a specific disease or condition, and presenting what is new in treatment, follow-up and overlaps between specialties, with the aim of refining doctors' expertise and enriching their information.
Dr. Ibrahim Bilal, head of the Neurology Division at the hospital, considered that the benefits of these scientific meetings are developing the culture of judging the doctor, whether resident or specialist, and increasing doctors’ meetings with each other to strengthen communication between them.
Dr. Rabab Omran, a specialist in gastroenterology and head of the Rehabilitation and Training Department at the hospital, stated that the importance of this day lies in clarifying the cardiac and digestive symptoms and introducing residents to their neurological effects.
The lecture given by Dr. Sura Ahmed, a cardiologist, dealt with the phenomenon of “neurological effects” in heart diseases, while the lecture by Dr. Wassim Suleiman, a neurologist, presented neurological symptoms and manifestations and their manifestations on some parts of the body.
Pharmacist Shazan Saleh from Alfa Company, which sponsored the scientific day, touched on ways to strengthen the relationship between doctors and pharmacists, in terms of ensuring that the patient takes the medicine with the least possible side effects.
