As the police said in a press release, a cyclist died.

Accordingly, the accident happened in Falkendorf (Erlangen-Höchstadt district).
At around 6:50 p.m., a 78-year-old rode his bike in the opposite direction to the direction of travel along a sidewalk along the main road (state road 2244) in the direction of Münchaurach.
Near the junction in the direction of Buch, he got onto the road with his bike for reasons that are still unknown.
There he collided with the car of a 69-year-old.
The cyclist was so badly injured in the collision that he died.
The driver was not injured.

"Officials from the Herzogenaurach Police Inspectorate took over the recording of the accident.
In addition, members of the Falkendorf fire brigade were deployed.

It was the second fatal accident in Middle Franconia on Wednesday.
A novice driver caused a car accident near Mühlhausen.
One person died and two others were critically injured.
