INTERVIEW - A trained philosopher and urban planner, Cyril Aouizerate, co-founder of Mama Shelter hotels, is at the head of the MOB concept (Saint-Ouen, Lyon, Bordeaux). He has just published, with Gabrielle Halpern, Thinking about hospitality (Ed. de l'Aube).

- Your MOB hotels are classified as 3 stars, except the MOB House, your 4 star version.

What importance do you attach to this classification today?

Cyril AOUIZERATE.

- I have always had a contempt for this classification.

Not out of arrogance, but because it seems to me to be a way of working from another era.

I believe that today it is better to fight to have four and five stars on a search engine than a 4-star sign.

I comply, because my addresses are part of the hotel park, but I find too many inconsistencies.

Out of commitment, I don't want bathtubs in the bathrooms or TVs in the bedrooms and that could penalize me for becoming a 4-star.

What do you think has moved the lines on these issues?

I remember a time when certain hotel groups dreamed of creating hotels without staff, with a counter to take the keys and a sandwich dispenser.
