The collapse of the land occurred in a robotic parking lot that was excavated on the site and there is a danger of the scaffolding in the TMA building moving • Mayor Amer Kochkabi said on the spot: "It is not clear to us what has been done in the last few days in the place that led to the existence of the sinkhole"

Mayor of Hod Hasharon Amir Kochavi today (Thursday) arrived at the Parachute Street where the sinkhole opened which led to the evacuation of tenants from three buildings.

Kochavi said on the spot: "On the face of it, there seems to be negligence here.

From a preliminary examination, it appears that the collapse of the soil occurred in a robotic parking lot that was excavated on the site and there is a danger of the scaffolding in the TMA building moving.

On top of that, due to the collapse of the ground, a section of road is closed until the impact is checked and, as mentioned, another building is evacuated until the construction is checked.

In addition to the evacuation of buildings number 4 and number 6, building 8 on Parachute Street is also being evacuated for fear of damage to the building.

Mayor Kochavi: "We received a complaint about a land collapse. Engineering forces arrived at the scene along with security and emergency forces. There is a TMA building here with a shaft for robotic parking and apparently there is a collapse of one wall.

We realized that the resulting hole extended both under the road and under the driveway of the adjacent building.

We decided to evacuate the tenants from the buildings until we are done with the tests.

We have already started pouring flexible concrete into the pit."

Kochavi told about the project in which the sinkhole was excavated: "This is a project that lasted quite some time. Several contractors were replaced here. The municipality's engineering department was here in the last few months and also constructors who inspected the works. It is not clear to us what was done in the last few days at the place. On the face of it, there seems to be negligence here We are trying to understand the meaning of the hole and how to treat it."

The residents of the three buildings are taken care of by the municipality.

After the engineering tests, it will be decided whether they will be able to return to their homes.

One of the tenants in the area said: "I have been warning for two and a half months about vibrations in the house. Trucks come in and take out a lot of sand. I heard a boom this morning. The tractor hit the pillars, they broke. All the sand landed and they just fenced around. I asked the workers if they informed the municipality, but no. They informed. There was no notification to the municipality from anyone and that's what happened in the end."

Another tenant said: "The tenants were told, 'There is still no sinkhole, but there was a very significant sand leak.'
