Dießen – The psychosomatic clinic in the former Dießen monastery of St. Vinzenz, which only opened in May 2018, urgently needs additional therapy rooms.
Since there is no more space in the main building next to the Marienmünster, you have to move to the staff dormitory a stone's throw away.
The construction and environmental committee of the Diessen market town council gave the go-ahead in its most recent meeting.
The request for change of use relates to the ground floor of the building with a gross floor area of 378 square meters.
According to building authority manager Johanna Schäffert, apart from three door openings, no load-bearing components will be changed.
On the outside, everything remains the same, except for an entrance door on the west end instead of a window.
As the planners and the clinic management emphasized, the cramped situation in the main building should be relaxed with the creation of additional therapy rooms, especially for individual therapies.
However, the change in use is not associated with an increase in patient beds and staff positions.
Thus, the existing 108 parking spaces of the clinic car park would also be sufficient.
With the exception of the ground floor, all apartments are still available for employees of the clinic.
In the former convent of the Sisters of Mercy of Saint Vincent de Paul, the team of doctors headed by chief physician Prof. Dr.
Bert te Wildt covers the entire spectrum of psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy.
The main focus is on the therapy of people with stress-related disorders, with exhaustion depression in the sense of burnout syndromes and the therapy of people with impulse control disorders in the sense of internet addiction, shopping addiction or a binge eating disorder, as excessive eating is called.
