Quite a few Israelis who rent cars abroad forget to check an important issue - the side on which they drive. Quite a few drivers who come from countries where they drive on one side to countries where they drive on the other side find themselves having trouble driving safely. Unfortunately, in many cases this also ends in accidents .

This is exactly what happened to Iris Kela and her husband Afik.

Last September, the two went on a honeymoon in Australia and rented a car.

Their dream trip was interrupted in an instant, after they collided head-on with a vehicle that came in front of them.

The accident ended with minor injuries to the young couple.

In a conversation that Iris had with "Israel Today", she talks about the difficult reconstruction process, the project that can save lives and the goal they set for themselves.

"About four months ago, we went on a dream honeymoon of one and a half months in Australia, but unfortunately it was cut short on the second day of the trip due to the car accident," she said. . To ease the difficult period that followed, we opened a TikTok account called 'The Honeymoon Couple', which has gained more than 16,000 followers and some of its videos have received several million views, and where we document our recovery process."

"When we told our friends about the accident, many told us how afraid they were to drive on the other side of the road where they are used to, that they don't rent a car in such places, and that they were even involved in accidents as a result of the confusion resulting from instinctive driving. We thought about how we could prevent the next accident, and we created an adapted voice through "Wise" application that helps keep the right lane when driving on the other side. It was especially important to us that it be an accessible and fast solution so that we can help save lives as soon as possible," added Iris.

"Since the accident, we have been undergoing intensive rehabilitation accompanied by physiotherapists and treatments," she concludes.

"We are learning to walk and waiting to fulfill the dream of running a marathon together. We started the rehabilitation in Australia, we were also in Italy for a while, and now we are continuing it in Israel. We hope that we will be able to help and save lives through the adapted voice in 'Wise'. The adapted voice we created can be purchased at a cost of $2 on the thathoneymooncouple website.
