The quantities of diesel allocated and sold to farmers at the subsidized price to implement the plan to grow wheat and barley crops in As-Suwayda for the current season have reached more than 552 thousand liters, covering the various regions of the governorate.
The Director of Agriculture in As-Suwayda, Eng. Ayham Hamid, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the provision of diesel fuel is carried out through the fuel station of the Governorate's Farmers' Union, based on the agricultural organization documents for the agricultural areas organized by farmers, and according to the available and incoming quantities of the material allocated for agricultural purposes.
Hamed pointed out that the percentage of distributed quantities reached about 50 percent of the total actual need for cultivation of the two crops, which amounted to more than one million and 100 thousand liters, indicating the continuation of the provision of diesel fuel with the continuation of cultivation operations in the coming days.
The plan to grow wheat in As-Suwayda for the current season is 35,038 hectares for rainfed and 587 hectares for irrigated, while the barley cultivation plan is 21,384 hectares.
