Today, the Higher Institute for Regional Planning at the University of Damascus launched a professional fellowship program in quality management in planning, in cooperation with the Global Management Group for Administrative Development and Capacity Building, within the framework of the agreement signed between the two sides.
Dr. Muhammad Firas Hinnawi, Vice President of Damascus University for Academic Research Affairs, explained in a speech during the launch ceremony at Rida Saeed Conference Hall that the program comes within the framework of the great interest that the university attaches to the issue of vocational education and training in accordance with quality standards to reach a graduate capable of competing in the labor market internally. .
Dr. Hinnawi expressed his hope that the program would contribute to introducing the concepts of quality management and strategic planning, and training graduates and human cadres on the principles, tools and techniques of quality in planning, so that they would be able to perform their tasks in accordance with international quality standards and strategic planning applications.
Dr. Raida Deeb, Dean of the Higher Institute for Regional Planning, explained that the program is one of the most important qualifications in regulating the profession of regional planner, and aims to develop relevant departments and cadres in accordance with international quality standards and link them with planning techniques and tools, noting that the trainees will obtain professional recognition from Damascus University after obtaining a bachelor's degree. And the Director General of the Global Management Group for Administrative Development and Capacity Building, Abdullah Hashem, stated that the launch of the program was the result of fruitful cooperation with the Higher Institute for Regional Planning at the University of Damascus, pointing out that it will contribute to the development of administrative culture and the development of human, administrative and institutional performance, which are essential pillars for comprehensive development in the context of a strategy Rashida adopts the scientific method as a means to reach the best outputs.
Dr. Imad Meshleh, Director of Academic Sabbaticals and Profession Practice at the University, explained that the program relies on members of the teaching and educational staff from the faculties of Damascus University according to the required disciplines, indicating that according to the agreement signed with the Global Management Group for Administrative Development and Capacity Building, the group ensures the provision of educational and strategic means for the training hall and securing Teachers in specializations not available at the university.
It is noteworthy that the period of study in the professional fellowship program in the field of quality management in planning is nine months, with a period of one working day per week, and registration in it requires obtaining a university degree as a minimum, and it was designed to meet the needs of scholars specialized in various fields.
