The police representatives described the change made in the last year in the expansion of the service's occupation in the seam between the criminal and the security.

It was agreed upon the establishment of a joint task force of the Israel Police and the General Security Service, accompanied by the Ministry of Justice, whose purpose is to examine how the service assists the Israel Police in its war on criminal organizations, as well as the sharing of professional knowledge, methods of operation and measures, all subject to the law.

One way or another, the Shin Bet is involved today, especially after "Guarding Walls" in places where there is a connection between crime incidents and one of the powers granted to the organization by the Shin Bet Law.

For example, in cases where crime families flee from Nablus, engage in the smuggling of praise or damage symbols of government.

However, according to a senior security source, to this day the entire top brass - the head of the Shin Bet, the Minister of Internal Security, and the members of the security cabinet, including former ombudsman Avihai Mandelblit - have opposed amending the Shin Bet law so that it would be possible for the organization to operate in events that are considered "criminal from end to end".
