Jacinda Ardern has governed New Zealand since October 2017. Her Labor Party was only the second strongest party in the elections, but together with New Zealand First Ardern formed a minority government tolerated by the Greens - Ardern became prime minister at the age of 37.

In 2020, Ardern clearly won the parliamentary elections with the Labor Party - probably because of their empathetic style of government, but also because of the initially rigorous corona policy.
