Ilana Sporta, who was accused of sending bullets to Naftali Bennett's family members when he served as prime minister, confessed and was convicted today (Thursday) as part of a plea deal.
Sporta, 65 years old from Ashkelon, was charged with extortion by threats and possession of ammunition.

As part of the plea agreement, the offense of possession of ammunition was removed.
Sporta admitted that she sent the threatening letters and said: "I apologize to the family members."
The Magistrate's Court in Kfar Saba convicted her in accordance with her confession.
The attorney's office announced that it will ask the court to sentence Sporta to an actual prison sentence.

Sporta is a political activist, often posting on social media and participating in political demonstrations and protests.
According to the indictment, she frequently posted on social media posts condemning Bennett, including curses, blatant defamations, harsh accusations and death wishes.
The indictment reads: "On this background, at a time that is not precisely known, the accused decided to send threats to the Prime Minister that she would kill him, his wife Gilat, and his 17-year-old son Yoni, if he did not resign from his position. Accordingly, from April 3 until On April 11, from time to time, the accused prepared two blackmail letters with threats."
