She didn't have time to go to the maternity ward. A woman gave birth on Thursday morning on a line A bus, in the Beauval district, in

In the Bossuet city, there were some disturbances this Thursday morning on line A of the Meaux and Ourcq bus network.

But nothing to do with the strike and the demonstrations against the pension reform observed the same day, almost everywhere in France.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the bus passengers got out of the vehicle due to… a surprise delivery!

The passenger was just going to the hospital in Meaux to give birth to her little girl, in the company of the dad and their first child.

“When we left Beauval, the husband came to see me to tell me that his wife had a stomach ache, but it was not too obvious that she was pregnant, says Christophe, the driver joined this Friday evening.

I still watched in my rear view mirror.

At one point, she was standing, she was jumping.

As we arrived at the Rond-Point stop [Editor’s note: at the crossroads of Human Rights, in Beauval], the husband told me

stop, stop, she does not feel well!

There, I saw the puddle on the ground.

The driver then got out of his vehicle to call 112, the emergency number, opening the doors so that passengers could get out.

“I was told to wait for the fire brigade but the head was there.

I went to see the town doctor next door, then the neighboring pharmacists.

In the meantime, the baby was born.

There were five women around the mother lying on the ground.

One of them had surgical gloves.

They had put on blankets to warm the little one who was on her mother's stomach, then heated blankets provided by the pharmacists.

When the firefighters intervened, they then took over to cut the umbilical cord and ensure that the baby and the mother were doing well and were safe.

In the aftermath, a crew from Smur arrived to take the extended family to the hospital in Meaux.

Christophe has resumed his service normally.

“You have to expect everything in this job, assures this forty-something, bus driver for eight years.

We must keep our cool under all circumstances.

Already a birth at the bus station in 2016

The management of the Meaux et Ourcq bus network itself announced the happy event on its Twitter account, mentioning "that great attention will be given to the little family".

"In fact, we are waiting to have the mother's contact details to get in touch with her to see what we can do," says Noémie Loureiro, deputy director of Transdev Marne et Ourcq.

On Twitter, for example, someone suggested free for life on the bus network!

Congratulation !

This is not the first time that a birth has taken place on a Meaux bus.

In December 2016, a little Elsa Cléora was born when the bus, which left La Ferté-sous-Jouarre and in which her mother was traveling, arrived at the Meaux bus station.

That day, it was not a passenger who had assisted the mother but the driver.

Again, everything had gone well.
