A doctor at the Colmar hospital center has been indicted for alleged sexual assault within his “
professional environment
”, the public prosecutor, Catherine Sorita-Minard, announced on Friday.
The doctor, in police custody since Wednesday, was referred on Friday and indicted for "
sexual assault committed by a person abusing the authority conferred on him by his position and
moral harassment at work", indicated the magistrate. in a press release.
Placed under judicial control, he is "
prohibited from coming into contact with the
presumed victims" and "
from appearing at their homes as well as in the hospitals of Colmar, Thann and Guebwiller

Victims related to the hospital environment
An investigation had been opened after a “
report
” in January 2022 from the management of the Colmar hospital center “
revealing inappropriate behavior by a doctor towards a nurse
”, explained Catherine Sorita-Minard.
The police investigation "
made it possible to identify other potential victims, some of whom filed a complaint
" and witnesses were heard, she added.

The alleged victims are "
not all
" nurses but are "
related to the professional environment
" of the suspect, said Catherine Sorita-Minard to AFP.
