During the last departmental assembly of the Alpes-Maritimes, on November 25, the president of the department, Charles-Ange Ginesy, had identified five main axes of the budget for the year 2023, most of them focused on the ecological and digital transition.
An orientation reaffirmed - and somewhat refined - on the occasion of the plenary session which was held at the Hôtel du département on Friday morning and during which the initial budget was voted on.
“In 2023, the Department's budget is an environmental commitment budget
,
” he certified.
Of the five major axes, the Department has this time praised only three: “
protect, invest and innovate
”
.
Concretely, this means that the Alpes-Maritimes will grant an additional 48 million euros for reconstruction work in the valleys, 330 million euros for land use planning and the development of new infrastructures, 88 million for the SDIS or 71 million euros for colleges.
On the health side, Charles-Ange Ginesy also recalled the opening of the Axel-Kahn institute, intended to better coordinate the course of care for cancer patients and their families.
Installed in the former Mozart clinic, the institute will benefit from an envelope of 8.8 million euros.

The president also mentioned the creation of the Departmental House of Autonomy, which combines the care of the elderly and people with disabilities.
But also the inauguration of the House of the first 1000 days, to support parents during the first three years of their children.
And to continue: “
A large part of this budget will be devoted to social action, with measures voted to protect the purchasing power of the Maralpins, in particular via new aid for individuals.
In addition, 52 million euros will irrigate this year our GREEN Deal policy and 23 million euros our SMART Deal policy
".
Like the departmental water management plan, with a budget of 25 million euros, or even the strengthening of aid for the energy renovation of housing with support from the department of up to 30,400 euros per household and up to 5,000 euros for the acquisition of electric vehicles.
“
The Alpes-Maritimes, land of energy, innovation and resilience, based on roots, has unsuspected strengths during crises.
And this year again, formidable and motivating challenges await us.
We approach the coming year with as much serenity as determination
,” he concluded.
