(ANSA) - PALERMO, 20 JAN - Cgil Cisl Uil and Acli Palermo join the popular anti-mafia march Bagheria Casteldaccia which will be held on 24 February.
In fact, the three unions together with ACLI Palermo formalized their participation in the march organized by the Pio La Torre Center, to reiterate "that the anti-mafia awareness that forty years ago prompted citizens, workers, pensioners, students, institutions, to take to the streets to say enough to what was called the 'second mafia war', he still has to guide the actions of everyone in every area in which he operates, to continue a battle of legality that must never let his guard down", explain the three general secretaries CGIL CISL UIL Palermo Mario Ridulfo, Leonardo La Piana, Luisella Lionti and the president of AcliPalermo Nino Tranchina.
The procession in fact recalls that of February 26, 1983 when thousands of people demonstrated against the Mafia at a time when in that so-called "triangle of death" between the two Palermo towns, the Cosa Nostra carried on its murderous strategy.
"After the arrest of the super fugitive Matteo Messina Denaro - they add -, it is even more important to reiterate that the fight against the mafia continues with greater vigor, to trace the network that has protected him for thirty years, to oppose those who want to take his place, to stop all illegal businesses that block the development of the good economy, the only one that can create jobs and lay the foundations for a different future. In this fight, we all have a central role, which we will reiterate with the march,
The three secretaries of Cgil Cisl Uil and the president of Acli Palermo conclude "it will therefore be an opportunity of great symbolic and social value to reinvigorate our No to the mafia, to a mafia that today is more invisible but infiltrated into many realities and against which we must reiterate the universal values such as the rights, freedom, social justice that will be at the center of the procession on February 24th".
