Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir and Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich acted today (Friday) to prevent the evacuation of the illegal "Or Haim" outpost, which was ordered by Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

While Smotrich ordered the head of coordination of operations in the territories to stop the evacuation of the outpost that was set up during the night, Ben Gvir condemned the continuation of the evacuation by the MGB forces who arrived on the scene. The MGB fighters have finished evacuating the outpost, the army is preparing for disturbances during the coming Shabbat.

In response to the condemnations, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu backed Gallant's move, and the Defense Minister himself stated that he backs the IDF: "Every action in the field must be done according to the law, in full coordination, and subject to the assessment of the security situation."

The Prime Minister's Office stated following the events: The government supports settlement only when it is done legally and with prior coordination with the prime minister and the security forces, which was not done in this case.

The Prime Minister will hold a discussion on the issue at the beginning of the week."

Hours after the illegal outpost was established this morning, Gallant ordered its evacuation.

Following this, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich issued a written instruction to the head of coordination of government operations in the territories, to stop the evacuation and not to carry it out until a discussion is held with him on the matter at the beginning of next week.

According to him, Gallant ordered the evacuation to be carried out despite the directive, without talking to him and "contrary to the coalition agreements".

At the same time, according to the law that allowed Smotrich to serve as a minister in the Ministry of Defense, it was made clear that it is the position of the Minister of Defense that determines in any case of conflict between the two.

During the evacuation of the outpost by MGB forces, Ben Gvir called for his arrest. "Everyone must respect the rule of law, but an equal and uniform policy must be created," he said in his message, and claimed that the Civil Administration discriminates between Jewish and Palestinian settlers in the territories. "It is not possible that Arabs build Throughout Judea and Samaria, the people of the administration do not talk to them and do not enforce the law, but when it comes to Jews, the administration carries out selective enforcement and within hours seeks to destroy and destroy the outpost." He also said that he intends to hold a discussion with the government about the conduct of the Civil Administration in the case.

Member of Knesset Limor Son Har Melech from Otzma Yehudit arrived at the illegal outpost during the morning, and following its eviction she said: "We appealed to Yoav Galant this morning to stop the demolition of the new outpost. If Yoav Galant does not retract his intention to destroy the outpost, it means that he wants to continue the left-wing policy of Benny Gantz".

She added, "Galant also refuses to cancel the administrative arrest warrants issued by his predecessor in office, Benny Gantz, against Jewish boys, and now refuses to hold a government discussion regarding the destruction of the outpost. Destroying a point established in such a strategic location is an action that will help the Palestinian Authority take control of the area, and I expect Galant to come to his senses."

Following the incident, opposition leader Yair Lapid wrote on Twitter: "The government has only existed for three weeks and already Defense Minister B and Defense Minister C are giving conflicting orders to the army. The prime minister is too weak to bring order and a Knesset member from his coalition is cursing the MGB and ISM fighters. Shame ".

The chairman of the state camp Benny Gantz praised the Minister of Defense for "taking a determined and responsible policy in the face of violations of the law and not allowing provocations and political pressures to dictate policy in Judea and Samaria." He added, "When Prime Minister Netanyahu leads a policy of trampling the foundations of democracy and the legal system - It is not surprising that the minister entrusted with law enforcement in the State of Israel calls on another minister to violate it."

Member of Knesset from the state camp Gadi Eisenkot wrote on his Twitter account: "The intervention of an agent of chaos in security matters will severely damage the IDF's mission in the shoes of the Sovereign to provide security and enforce law and order.

The Prime Minister must take an immediate position similar to the hundreds of cases in which illegal outposts were evacuated during his tenure and give complete backing to the security system and the IDF."

MK Ze'ev Elkin from the state camp also reacted to the events, writing on Twitter: "Less than a month to establish a full right-wing government: 1) evacuation of an outpost in Samaria 2) removal from the government agenda of a decision on the settlement of Kochav Ya'akov due to American pressure 3) delay in approval Construction in the 'Nof Zion' neighborhood in Jerusalem due to American pressure 4) Confiscation of seedlings for planting in Hammam and construction equipment of settlers in Bat Ein 5) Delay of planting in the Negev.

True?!".

The "Or Haim" outpost was established during the night by five families and a nucleus of several young people, including the grandson of Rabbi Haim Druckman, Neve Schindler, one of the initiators of the move.

Schindler explained that the outpost was built in his grandfather's name out of "recognition and understanding that the best commemoration of a grandfather is the establishment of a new settlement."

The establishment of the outpost comes after yesterday the Mageb forces and the Civil Administration confiscated a "bagger" type tractor that was operating in the area of the Bat Ein B outpost in Gush Etzion. Following the incident, residents of the outpost criticized the enforcement policy demonstrated towards the settlement, especially after the establishment of the new government.
