Jay & Joy plant products recalled for listeria infection cause 'premature labor'

Public Health France indicated this Friday that four pregnant women, infected with this bacterium, gave birth before their term.

Since Saturday January 14, several products from the vegetable brand Jay & Joy, infected with listeria, have been recalled throughout France.

The latter, 18 in number, made from almond milk or cashew nuts, are alternatives to cheese or foie gras.

Following investigations which

“serious infection

“More than 80% of cases of listeriosis occur in vulnerable people: pregnant women and their newborns, people over 65, immunocompromised people, etc.,

specifies the National Public Health Agency.

In pregnant women, it can cause abortion, premature delivery or serious neonatal infection.

The people concerned who would present feverish or digestive symptoms, between 10 days and 2 months after the consumption of the products, must quickly consult a doctor.
