Ouagadougou-Sana
Hundreds demonstrated in Burkina Faso today in protest against the French presence in their country, calling on the French ambassador to leave the country immediately.
According to Agence France-Presse, the demonstrators gathered in the Nation Square in the center of Ouagadougou and also demanded the closure of the French army base in Kampuencin, located on the northern outskirts of the capital, where 400 special forces are stationed.
The demonstrators carried banners expressing their rejection of the French presence, including: (The French army... Get out of us) and (Get out, you sabotaging diplomats).
Thousands of people in Burkina Faso demonstrated last October against the French intervention in their country, calling for an end to the French military presence in the Sahel region and the establishment of military cooperation with Russia to confront terrorism.
