On Friday afternoon around 1:50 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on state road 2063 between Schönmühl and Penzberg.
Two people were killed in the process.
A van driving in the direction of Bichl collided head-on with a car driving in the direction of Penzberg in front of the Edenhof junction, approximately at the height of the solar park.
The driver of the car, a 74-year-old from Penzberg, and his 71-year-old wife died at the scene of the accident, according to the police.
The 8-year-old great-granddaughter in the back seat suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the van, a Bad Heilbrunner (49), and the passenger, a Bad Tölzer (52), suffered moderate injuries, according to the police.
The injured were taken to the Murnau accident clinic by rescue helicopter and ambulance.
