Serious accident in Upper Bavaria: Two dead and three injured

A serious accident occurred between Penzberg and Schönmühl.

The police have now confirmed: There were two fatalities.

Three people were injured, including a child.

Update from January 20, 6:50 p.m.:

On Friday afternoon around 1:50 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on state road 2063 between Schönmühl and Penzberg.

Two people were killed in the process.

A van driving in the direction of Bichl collided head-on with a car driving in the direction of Penzberg in front of the Edenhof junction, approximately at the height of the solar park.

The driver of the car, a 74-year-old from Penzberg, and his 71-year-old wife died at the scene of the accident, according to the police.

The 8-year-old great-granddaughter in the back seat suffered minor injuries.

Fatal accident near Penzberg: expert was consulted

The driver of the van, a Bad Heilbrunner (49), and the passenger, a Bad Tölzer (52), suffered moderate injuries, according to the police.

The injured were taken to the Murnau accident clinic by rescue helicopter and ambulance.

An expert was consulted at the scene of the accident to clarify the cause of the accident and the course of the accident.

The Penzberg and Bichl fire brigades deployed more than 30 people and took on rescue and blocking measures.

State road 2063 in this area has been completely closed to accident recording since 2 p.m.
