A rare cloud with pink and orange colors was observed over the city of Bursa in western Anatolia. A weather phenomenon

The scene has something of “Mars Attacks” the famous science fiction parody film by Tim Burton.

A huge so-called lenticular cloud resembling some sort of UFO was spotted over the city of Bursa in Turkey on Thursday.

The phenomenon was so impressive that passers-by and other motorists did not fail to capture this improbable and rare scene on their phones.

The scene then made the happiness of social networks.

The circular-shaped cloud appeared at sunrise, its central hole remained intact for about an hour.

Lenticular clouds are known for their curved, flying saucer-like appearance and are typically found at heights between 2,000 and 5,000 meters.

Increasingly rare in town

To be precise, this lenticular cloud is one of the species of "stationary altocumulus" most often in the shape of an airplane wing profile found downstream from mountain tops.

It is much rarer to see it above a city.

Altocumulus lenticularis can also be found on wave crests downhill from a mountain.

They are also often associated with particular direction circulations.

For example, in the Mediterranean Sea, the formation of such a cloud often indicates the arrival of the Mistral or the Tramontane, to the north or south of the Swiss Alps, it indicates the activity of the Foehn specifies the Méprises du ciel site.
