Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu intends to fire Shas Chairman Interior and Health Minister Aryeh Deri tomorrow (Sunday) after the weekly cabinet meeting in accordance with the High Court ruling last week that invalidated his appointment as minister. Deri is expected to attend the last cabinet meeting where it will be approved, among other things, his proposal regarding the basket of medicines. After that, Netanyahu will submit to him the letter of dismissal that is expected to take effect within 48 hours.
In the letter that the Ombudsman sent to the Prime Minister, she wrote that according to the High Court of Justice ruling in the Deri matter, he "cannot continue to serve as a minister in the government Israel.
Therefore, and according to your authority established by the fundamental law: the government, you must act in accordance with the ruling and remove him from his positions in the government." In the letter, she added, that in view of the "limitations in the law" that apply to Netanyahu, "another person must be appointed to serve as the minister of health and the minister of the interior."
Netanyahu will present him with the dismissal letter which is expected to take effect within 48 hours.

Despite the decision of the High Court, which stated that Aryeh Deri will not be able to serve as minister, the chairman of Shas intends to come to the cabinet meeting tomorrow. Since the High Court ruling, Deri and Netanyahu have talked several times, this in an attempt to find a solution for the continuation of Deri's term as minister or As an alternate prime minister, this is in accordance with the requirement of the Shas chairman.
After the ruling, Deri referred to the court's decision.
He pledged to continue the "revolution" started by the leaders before him, and declared: "They will close the door for us, we will enter through the window. They will close the window for us - we will break through the ceiling."
According to the chairman of Shas, he was not surprised by the High Court's decision, and even added that it brought him joy. "There is no joy like allowing doubts," he explained at the end of the support gathering at his home. "It's good that they spoke, and it's good that it ended this way of 10 against 1.
