Ouagadougou-Sana
The government of Burkina Faso has officially asked the French army to leave its territory within a period of one month.
The Burkina Faso News Agency stated that the country's government denounced during a meeting the agreement governing the presence of French forces on its territory, signed in December 2018, and asked them to leave the country's territory within one month only.
Burkina Faso has witnessed, during the recent period, many mass demonstrations calling for the departure of the French forces because they did not provide the country with the required assistance to confront terrorist organizations.
Since 2015, several areas in Burkina Faso have been suffering from insecurity and repeated terrorist attacks, which have resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries, and the displacement of about two million people.
