A budget once again marked by investments in transport and mobility, the spearhead of the environmental mandate.

Of the 3.8 billion, including 720 million for investment, an envelope of 104 million euros is allocated to this item of expenditure.

It is the second highest behind the “territorial development” line, with many sites at stake.

“A metropolis under construction

”, summed up its president, Bruno Bernard during his wishes to the press this Friday, affirming that “

the operational phase is starting”

.

Bike paths, metro B and trams

This will be the case in particular for the famous Lyon routes of the express bike network, seven of which will materialize this year for 28.6 million investment.

The metropolitan council on Monday will also open on a deliberation to continue the financial incentive for the acquisition of bicycles.

Then another to develop their parking lot, from 2,300 spaces to 15,000 at the end of the mandate.

Project of the previous majority, the metro works will come to an end, with the opening of two new stations at the southern end of line B, pushing the terminus to Saint-Genis-Laval.

It will be accompanied by a relay car park in Saint-Genis-Laval.

As for the tramway, 2023 will see work on lines T6 north, T9 and T10.

Less 10% car traffic?

A mobility policy which Bruno Bernard was delighted to be accompanied by an increase in cycling and a decrease in car traffic, by 10% between 2019 and 2022, according to figures presented to the hurry.

The President of the Metropolis underlined

“a fall in the purchase of diesel vehicles

” which would represent only 10% of purchases in the metropolitan territory, insisting on the first dissuasive effects of the ZFE.

Still, the Crit'Air 5 vignettes may have been banned in the Lyon perimeter since September, and punished since January, the absence of latest generation radars capable of verbalizing offenders limits the punitive aspect.

Pending municipal police checks and action on parking, Crit'Air 5 vehicles can no longer renew their resident sticker in Lyon, for example.

“As long as there are no radars there can be controls but no massive effect”

, confirms the elected official, who returns the responsibility for the delay in the matter to the government.

"In two years they have pushed back the deadline by two and a half years"

, attacks Bruno Bernard.

Horizon 2025 therefore … By then Bruno Bernard will perhaps know if he will renew his candidacy for Grand Lyonnais.

“Ask me the question in 3 years”

, he blew this Friday.

Even five, since a recent bill tabled by the Lyon deputy Anne Brugnera (LREM) envisaged postponing the next election to stall it on the departmental ballot, of which the Metropolis has recovered the skills.
