Today, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the freezing of the accounts of the Russian French-language RT channel will lead to retaliatory measures against the French media in Russia.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement reported by Russia Today: “The response measures that Russia will take will be of the kind that will remain in the memory of Paris, if the French authorities do not stop terrorizing Russian journalists.”
And the French-speaking Russian RT channel reported yesterday that the French authorities decided to freeze its bank accounts in French territory.
Earlier, the Russian embassy in France expressed its condemnation of seizing the bank accounts of the aforementioned channel, noting that this is a flagrant violation of the principles of media freedom, and goes beyond the European Union's sanctions against Russia.
