Researcher Nizar Kahla shed light on the ancient history of the city of Salamiyah through an investigation of a manuscript titled Salimiya fi al-Muqtarab fi Hakadat al-Hadhar wa al-Arab.

The manuscript, which was written by researcher Fathallah Anton Al-Sayegh in 1815, dealt with the existing relations between some cities of the Levant and the Ottoman Empire.

Kahla investigates his book with a section excerpt from the manuscript, in which he deals with several topics related to the Levant, focusing on the bad relations between the Bedouin tribes and the Ottoman Empire and its reflection on the Levant, including the city of (Slemiya), meaning (peaceful), through a narration of events that took place in it dating back to before 1800.

In this narration, the author confirmed that the city (Salamiyah) was not deserted at that time, as is usually rumored, and describes in the manuscript many battles that took place between the Ottomans and the Bedouin tribes that inhabited that region.

He confirmed through the importance of this manuscript that the city of Salamiyah had an important historical role even in that era, and that the city was beautiful, fertile lands, and that the Roman canals were effective in watering and irrigating the city's crops, and the manuscript did not overlook the existence of a wall that protected it from attacks. in that era.

It includes, after the introduction, an introduction to the author of the manuscript, then an introduction to the manuscript, its study and verification, illumination of the part extracted from it, and what is required to be verified, and a chapter on Salimiya (Salamiyya) in the manuscript that was the title, then commenting on it indicating its great importance in relation to the history of Salamiya, then the conclusion and appendices.

The book, issued by the Bakir Library in Salamiyah, has 92 pages of medium size, and it is mentioned that the book reviewer, researcher Kahla, holds a degree in history from the University of Damascus, and he is a member of the Arab Writers Union, the Association for Research and Studies. Through history and the invasions of the peoples and tablets of fate, schools and education in the history of the ancient Arab East.
