Carlos Maslatón, the liberal lawyer who became one of the most viral characters in the Qatar 2022 World Cup to try to break the record for the most matches seen in a World Cup, denounced that he was banned by Javier Milei in his intention to compete in a STEP as a candidate for president of La Libertad Avanza.
“Through unequivocal public statements in the last few hours, Karina Milei and Javier Milei announced that in La Libertad Avanza (LLA) PASO elections are not allowed to settle this year's candidacies.
They also provided that I had to withdraw from the Movement and compete outside with my own list.
In this way, they confirmed that LLA is their property and that internal democracy is not practiced, but dictatorship institutionalized by them in total contradiction with the principles of liberalism, ”Maslatón wrote in his furious defense.
The lawyer, founder in 1982 of the mythical youth group UPAU, the university arm of Ucedé, published his position on Twitter, where he is a celebrity with more than 250,000 followers, and argued that the impossibility of letting him play in a consolidated internal a purge process "of a Stalinist nature" whose objective is "to expel the leaders and militants who are the architects of the successful political construction of 2021."
For Maslatón, the libertarian apparatus that they knew how to raise since the irruption of Milei in politics was now "replaced by the mechanism currently in force for the sale of candidacies for money in the different jurisdictions."
And he denounced: "Whenever this happens in politics, it is because business and the personal enrichment of the leader are privileged for a campaign, relegating interest in real access to the national magistracies."
“This system of corruption, a kind of concession of an absolute monarch prior to capitalism that in exchange for money creates duchies and counties for a servile nobility that exploits the people, was complemented by the unprecedented delirium of a Javier Milei dedicated to conditioning visits to the provinces for LLA grassroots militants to raise millions in pocket money as if they were paid conferences given for wealthy businessmen,” he added.

The fight between Milei and Maslatón is not new.
From being inseparable in the last election to political divorce, there were several episodes that featured one person: Karina Milei, the sister of the La Libertad Avanza deputy, whom he himself calls "El Jefe."
Maslatón accused her of filling the environment of the economist with unholy leaders and even compared her to López Rega.

The public fight continued and Maslatón launched his presidential candidacy days later, challenging Milei to a STEP.
"I prepared my whole life for this moment," he told Clarín the day he announced his intention to compete against Mieli.
What followed was more of the same: strong criticism from the lawyer against the deputy, who chose to respond as little as possible.

This made it clear that the tweeter star was not part of Milei's courtly circle, almost banishing him from the place she once knew how to occupy.
"The small table is Carlos (Kikuchi), Karina and Javier. I am Javier's ears, he speaks and I know what he wants. Nobody knows him like I do. Then obviously we have more people on the team," he told Clarin in an interview.
On that occasion he also relativized the libertarian inmates.
He admitted fights, but played them down.
"Every party that starts has noise, and we grew very quickly. Later things are settling down. Now the challenge is to be throughout the country. Javier said that he is going to set up people in each place so that they can choose a liberal option."
Now, those fights broke out in the air with the public denunciation of Maslatón, who questioned the raffles that Milei does every month, giving away his salary as a deputy to a follower.
"It is a demagogic fact intended to cover up the true political corruption mounted by him and his sister consisting of the sale of 'presence' and which constitutes the real basis for the expulsion of militants and the banning of inmates."

The lawyer argued that Milei is experiencing a process of "degradation" and that there are two factors that make him deny the essence of liberalism.
“One is to reject democracy as a political system, under the influence of Alberto Benegas Lynch, a fascist from the 1976 military process who convinced him that liberalism cannot prosper with democracy,” he maintained.
“Another is Milei's obsession that hyperinflation occurs and the country is destroyed in order to be able to profit politically and remain as the messianic savior of Argentina.
Milei has ceased to be even an economic analyst capable of recognizing market floors and the upward trends of the economy that often occur irrelevant to the mistakes of governments, ”he added.
Maslatón's lapidary text points against one of Milei's flags in the campaign, dollarization.
“In economics, Milei has been left contrary to reality and launching dollarization proposals that he himself knows are currently inapplicable and that can only prosper after a blending hyperinflation or after a deflationary crash, both tragedies of a degree much higher than 1989 and 2001 respectively and that they are not going to take place in Argentina in the near future”.
But he does not renounce La Libertad Avanza, quite the opposite.
He reaffirms that he stays in the political party to denounce from within everything that he poured into his defense.
"After the deadline granted to the Stalinist troika of LLA (Milei, Karina and Kikuchi) for the authorization of the PASO in the Movement, that is to say at 2400 hours on 1/20/2023, I ratify that I am not putting together a separate political project, that I did not migrate to the socialist axis of Together for Change or to the Frente de Todos”.
