The confirmation of the visit of Presidents
Nicolás Maduro (Venezuela), Daniel Ortega (Nicaragua) and Miguel Díaz-Canel (Cuba)
to Buenos Aires on the occasion of the CELAC summit, motivated many complaints and proposals from the opposition and, in In
the midst of criticism, legislators from
Together for Change
in the City presented a project to
declare them personas non grata
.
In the text of the project they are directly described as "dictators": "Declare Nicolás Maduro, Daniel Ortega and Miguel Díaz-Canel, dictators of Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba respectively, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, in the framework of the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC)".
"From the Juntos por el Cambio interblock in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, we manifest our most energetic rejection of the visit of
the most bloodthirsty Latin American dictators of recent times
," the legislators said in a statement.
Emmanuel Ferrario, First Vice President of the Buenos Aires Legislature.
Among the fundamentals, the legislators point to President Alberto Fernández: "Almost forty years after the return of democracy in our country, we find
it a real shame that the President of the Nation receives the aforementioned dictators
on Argentine soil, ignoring the numerous complaints against him for crimes against humanity in international courts".
"The deafening silence of the ruling party in the face of hundreds of complaints and accounts of victims kidnapped, persecuted, exiled and tortured by these dictators causes us
extreme concern
since our space accompanies the subjected peoples and fights for the strengthening of the world's democracies and the region," they added.
And they concluded: "From the Juntos por el Cambio interblock in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, we manifest our most energetic repudiation of the visit of the most bloodthirsty Latin American dictators of recent times."
The libertarians, also against Maduro
"We cannot allow them to receive a dictator, it is disrespectful," said
Ramiro Marra
,

The initiative of Marra, president of Javier Milei's block of Buenos Aires legislators, declares that Maduro is not welcome in the City of Buenos Aires for his "clear responsibility in crimes against humanity, violation of multiple democratic principles and political persecution in Venezuela."
But also, he did not miss the opportunity to criticize the head of the Buenos Aires government as well as President Alberto Fernández: "What Alberto Fernández did is nonsense, we already know that he celebrates authoritarian governments. But
where is Rodríguez Larreta to stop come into our City?
"
In his project, he also uses as an argument a United Nations report that warned about the behavior of the Bolivarian government regarding the rights of citizens.
"We consider it essential to declare Nicolás Maduro persona non grata in the City of Buenos Aires," said Marra, who supports former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro and his children whom he received in Buenos Aires.
