Two earthquakes of moderate intensity struck this evening, 30 kilometers northwest of the city of Homs.
The National Seismological Center stated on its page on the social networking site Facebook that the stations of the national seismic monitoring network in it recorded a first earthquake measuring 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale and a depth of 10 km at 16:32 local time, near the Syrian-Lebanese border, 30 km northwest. Homs City.
The center indicated that the residents of the governorates of Homs, Hama, Tartous, and Lattakia felt the tremor.
The center added: The network stations also recorded a second earthquake measuring 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale and a depth of 2 km at 17:27 local time, at the Syrian-Lebanese border, 39 km west of the city of Homs.
An earthquake measuring 4.5 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded on the evening of the 12th of this month, 43 km northwest of the city of Hama.
