First figure skating, then figure skating and equestrian sports: TSV Peißenberg has grown considerably in the last few years.

Now another new department has been added, long-distance hiking.

Peißenberg

- "The hikers have approached us and we will not turn anyone away who wants to take part in TSV," said Deputy TSV President Markus Heidler.

This month, ten passionate hikers met with the TSV management to officially launch the new department at a founding meeting and to elect a department manager.

The management team of the new TSV section "long-distance hiking" consists of Claudia Ritter (head of department), Manuela Viviani (deputy head of department) and Katrin Krabler (treasurer).

The new department has been active in sports for some time.

Training takes place in the hall every Sunday between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The program includes fitness training and muscle building.

Among other things, the plan is now to hike at least 20 to 30 kilometers every other week and, if possible, to walk or run five to ten kilometers once a week.

Furthermore, in the coming months, the new department will take part in various marches, which are now being offered more and more frequently.

Participation in "mammoth marches" planned

The start on March 25th at the “mammoth march” in Munich, where 55 kilometers have to be covered in a maximum of 14 hours, is already fixed.

Participation in the "mammoth march" Munich-Mittenwald on May 13 with 100 kilometers in 24 hours, as well as the mega march "#Wirgehenweiter Sommer Spezial" and the first official hiking world championship in Duisburg in the category "12 hours" are also planned August and early September.

After the summer holidays, the department is planning a "family event" where there will be a hike with children over five kilometers with stations and a second hike without children over 15 kilometers, also with stations.

Further information

on the new department is available from the TSV office and soon on the Weitwanderer website, which is still under construction.

By the way: everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.
