Mogadishu-SANA
At least five people were injured today, after an explosion targeted the mayor's office in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
Reuters quoted Abdel-Qader Abdel-Rahman, director of the (Amin) Ambulance Service, as saying: At least five people were wounded in an explosion that targeted the gates of the mayor's office located in the local government headquarters building, about a kilometer and a half from the presidential residence, followed by shooting that is still continuing.
For his part, an intelligence official pointed out that the security forces closed the area immediately, but the exchange of fire between the army and the attackers continued and hindered the entry of ambulances to it.
Al-Shabaab, linked to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack.
