In a crisis atmosphere and full of drama, the ministers of the government gather this morning (Sunday) for their weekly meeting.

In the focus of the yeshiva's attention is Shas chairman Aryeh Deri, who was absent from the opening of the yeshiva, which is expected to be his last as a minister.

This, following the High Court ruling that invalidated his appointment last week and ordered him to be fired immediately. During the meeting, the government will approve Deri's proposal, his first and last as health minister, to update the medicine basket, and then - Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will officially hand him the dismissal letter, which will take effect within 48 hours.

Despite the overwhelming verdict of the High Court of Justice, which blocked almost all of Deri's ways to return to the government, the chairman of Shas continues to look for options for legislation that will allow him to overcome the ruling and return to serving as a minister in the near future. Deri's disqualification is expected to strengthen the coalition's determination to promote the The reform to weaken the justice system quickly in the coming weeks, despite the protests that are expanding from week to week, and the Shas will try to incorporate a bypass clause in the High Court of Justice into the legal proceedings, which will qualify Deri's return. Therefore, he does not intend to appoint permanent ministers to the Ministries of Health and the Interior, but to designate them in advance as substitutes temporary.

At the same time as the farewell party for Derai, the second crisis of the coalition will be embodied in those who will be absent from the weekly government meeting.

Religious Zionist ministers announced last night that they would boycott the meeting in protest of the eviction of the illegal outpost established in memory of Rabbi Haim Druckman in Samaria this weekend, which led to the first power struggle between Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Religious Zionist Chairman Bezalel Smotrich, who also serves as a minister in the Ministry of Defense. Smotrich He tried to use his powers as the coordinator of government operations in the territories and the civil administration in the ministry to stop the evacuation, but Defense Minister Yoav Galant, with the backing of the prime minister, ordered the IDF to evacuate the outpost and raised his guard.

According to the coalition agreements, Smotrich is supposed to receive the powers over the National Security Service and the Civil Administration, but in practice the transfer of powers has not yet been settled. In any case, the Smotrich Law that regulated his tenure as minister in the Ministry of Defense clearly stated that in any case of dispute the position of the Minister of Defense would be decisive. Religious Zionism accuses Galant of violating the agreements and delaying the transfer of powers and announced last night that they "do not intend to put this on the agenda" and are considering additional steps later this week to pressure Netanyahu to intervene on the issue.

Otzma Yehudit also opposed the evacuation of the illegal outpost in Samaria and intend to show muscle in the government meeting in response.

The chairman of Otzma Yehudit, Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir, announced yesterday that he will demand that the government decide on the immediate evacuation of Khan al-Ahmar, the illegal Bedouin settlement east of Jerusalem. By the end of the month the state must respond to petitions to the High Court demanding the settlement's evacuation. And with Otzma Yehudit demand to change the government policy that was introduced in recent times towards the Yishuv for security and political reasons and to evacuate the Yishuv immediately.

The political-security cabinet is expected to discuss the Khan al-Ahmar issue in any case in the coming weeks in preparation for submitting the state's answer to the High Court.

Alongside the dramas and tensions, the government will continue tomorrow with the appointment of CEOs to the top offices.

On the agenda were the appointments of the new director general of Galant's Ministry of Defense, the former deputy chief of staff, Major General (ret.) Eyal Zamir, and the appointed director general of Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, Ronan Levy,

Minister of Innovation and Science Ofir Akunis will approve the appointment of his CEO, Gadi Arieli, after the first candidate for the position, former MK Esnath Mark, withdrew her candidacy.

Arieli previously served as CEO of Likud and CEO of the Export Institute, and his appointment was approved last week by the Civil Service Commission.

The Minister of Environmental Protection Idit Silman will also confirm tomorrow the CEO of her office Guy Smet, who has held a number of senior positions in the Ministries of Environmental Protection and Energy in recent years.
