Firefighters arrived 4 minutes after receiving the report and the fire broke out. The unit is located on the 23rd floor, with an area of about 15 meters by 10 meters. 156 firefighters, 128 ambulance personnel, 2 firefighters and 2 smoke teams were dispatched, 32 fire trucks and 12 ambulances were used. The fire was violent and thick with smoke. It was densely covered and spread to the 22nd and 24th floors. The Fire Services Department received multiple cases for help, so more manpower was used. At 1:24 pm, the fire alarm was raised to level 3. Firefighters evacuated a total of 40 people on each floor, and another 70 people voluntarily Evacuated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. It is not ruled out that a karaoke machine in the hall was in operation and caused a fire. The firefighters found no flammable items at the fire scene. The building's fire protection equipment was operating normally, and the fire was not suspicious.
During the fire, a total of 7 people were sent to the hospital by ambulance for treatment, mainly due to inhalation of thick smoke and discomfort, 2 of them were seriously injured, including a fire chief and a 60-year-old male security guard surnamed Zhong, who were sent to the hospital in a semi-conscious state The remaining 5 injured are all conscious, aged between 42 and 75, including a 75-year-old male resident surnamed Zhong who suffered hand injuries, a 58-year-old Filipino maid, and 3 Filipino maids from other units.
In addition, a 58-year-old Filipino maid carried a 2-year-old boy in her arms and took a taxi to the hospital for medical treatment. Both were conscious.
