The policeman on the motorcycle ran a red light, and hit the eight-year-old Nehrai Benvanishti in Bnei Brak - this is according to the accident documentation obtained by Walla!.

In the video from the security cameras, the boy is seen leaving the parking lot of a building, moving towards one crosswalk, and recognizes that the parallel crosswalk has a green light.

He is in a hurry to pass and runs to the road, and the motorcyclist, who according to the police was on operational activity, is not enough to stop.

Nahorai was seriously injured in the accident.

The MDA team gave him medical treatment on the spot, on Abarbanal Street in the city, and evacuated him to Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva, where he was hospitalized for a few days. Upon his release home a week ago, he celebrated his eighth birthday with his friends in the judo club.

"There are miracles in the world," said Ora, Nahorai's mother, last week.

However, she said that her son has not yet recovered from the accident.

"You can see that he is still frightened, afraid, asking a lot of questions about what happened - 'Mom, who ran me over, a policeman?'"

Ora was summoned to the police to give her version.

"He did run, but on a green light, while the policeman passed on a red light," she clarified.

"The investigator said that the offending policeman would be interrogated and that the case would be transferred to the prosecutor's office. He answered me that everything is checked with tweezers and that the case could also be closed."

Ora also added that eyewitnesses told her that they saw the offending policeman move the motorcycle after the accident, which is prohibited by law.

The police stated that "without referring to the circumstances of the incident that is under investigation, it is an unfortunate accident while the rider was on his way to deal with an operational incident. As a matter of fact, the circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the traffic examiners."
