Stabbing attack foiled in Jerusalem's Old City:
A 13.5-year-old Palestinian, a resident of Issawiya, was arrested last night (Saturday) by police in the Old City, after allegedly intending to carry out a stabbing attack with a knife caught in his possession.
The suspect will be brought to the court to discuss the extension of his detention and the investigation of the incident continues.
In the search conducted by the police on the suspect's body, a removed knife was seized.
The suspect was arrested by the police and taken for questioning in the David area of the Jerusalem district.
From a preliminary investigation, it is suspected that he intended to carry out a stabbing attack.

The commander of the Jerusalem District, Superintendent Doron Turgeman, praised the vigilance of the police officers, saying: "This is another example of the professionalism of the Jerusalem District police officers and MGB fighters working in the city in the ongoing fight against terrorism. It was the vigilance of the police officers, their quick response and pursuit of contact that led to the arrest. Faced with the threats of terrorism , there is no substitute for the determined activity of our police officers who work all the time to thwart hostile sabotage activity and deal with any security threat. We will continue to fight terrorism with all the tools at our disposal and thwart terrorist threats of any kind for the sake of the security of the citizens of the State of Israel."
