US forces have taken three members of the Islamic State (IS) organization prisoner during a raid in eastern Syria, the US military command for the Middle East (Centcom) announced on Sunday.
Among the prisoners are a logistician and a man acting as an intermediary for IS, he said in a statement.
The third was described as an "
associate
" of the jihadist group, according to the same source.
A civilian was lightly injured in the ground and helicopter assault, according to Centcom.
Since the defeat of ISIS in Syria in 2019, the international coalition led by Washington has regularly carried out operations against suspected members of the group. Hundreds of American soldiers, deployed in northeast Syria as part of the coalition anti-jihadist, continue to fight with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, dominated by the Kurds) and to target suspected members of the IS.
